There’s an emergency in your building. Maybe a fire, maybe worse. Fire and police ask you:
  • Where are your building plans?
  • Where are those with special requirements? How many are there?
  • What are their names?

You need to know these answers, but:
  • How quickly can you provide them with the plans to your buildings and other information?
  • What is the price of the time you spend looking for them?
You know what the answers to these questions must be.
Now there’s LOCATUM to help you have the answers you know you must have.
LOCATUM puts your plans online where they are quickly available to those who need them. Precious minutes are saved.
What is LOCATUM?
LOCATUM is an online database available for ready access in an emergency. You can use it to store:
  • Building floor plans,
  • Personnel schedules,
  • Special needs of personnel, and
  • Hazmat information.

With LOCATUM emergency services staff may quickly know the basics of your physical plant and where those with special needs are scheduled to be. They can then allocate their resources more quickly and efficiently, giving you better protection.
Is LOCATUM easy to use?
Yes! Simply log on, enter your password, and click on the information you need. Information can be readily printed for distribution to emergency services personnel.
How do I receive information from LOCATUM?
You have options. You may print it on your printer and since it is presented as a pdf file, you have no formatting issues. You may receive it via fax back.
If your only communication option is a voice telephone, then call our 24x7 service center and trained service representatives will verbally give you the information.
How do I keep LOCATUM up to date?
You enter your changes online as you make them. Thus, you control that your database is up to date. LOCATUM sends you a confirming message each time you update your database.
Is LOCATUM secure?
Both physical and electronic security is important with LOCATUM. Our facilities are redundant. We have separate power supplies. We have redundant fiber communications links to our service center.
LOCATUM also uses advanced electronic security to protect the privacy of your data. And you control the access of your staff. You may choose to give a few general access, while others may only be able to update part of your database. The choice is yours.

What are other ways LOCATUM works for you?

LOCATUM can be used as an asset and material management database, scheduling database, or as an attendance system.

Why should you use LOCATUM?

Simply that the highly affordable LOCATUM system enables safety services to be informed quickly. And speed pays dividends for you, and the facilities and personnel you are responsible for.

What do I need to give you for floorplans?

LOCATUM prefers simple scannable ones similar to the evacuation plans you probably have near elevators and in rooms.

What if I want additional information on these plans?

These plans can be readily marked with other critical information. For example, Hazmat locations.

How is my information entered into the text database?

LOCATUM provides you with an online template and you enter the data. Thus, you assure the accuracy of your data.

Can LOCATUM input the text data?

Yes. If you wish, LOCATUM will do it from data you provide, charging only time and materials. After LOCATUM inputs the data, you are required to verify its accuracy.

I have a unique requirement that is not a LOCATUM feature. Will you accommodate it?

LOCATUM is always adding new capabilities and would be pleased to discuss your special needs with you.

When I use the text database for schedules, how do I indicate the special needs of a person?

There is a database field where you can enter a person’s special needs.

I have a multi-building campus. Should all buildings be included in the
LOCATUM service?

What buildings are included is your decision, but remember if the building is not covered, then you are not protected.

Can I also include a campus map for my multi-building campus?

Yes, and as long as it fits on a page, the charge for a campus map is the same as for a basic one-story building.

What if my building floorplans change?

If you can scan the new plan, you do this, go online to substitute it for the previous one, and respond to LOCATUM’s confirmation notice. There is no charge for this service. If you cannot enter your own plans, LOCATUM will do it for you, charging you only for time and materials.

How do I keep my LOCATUM database up to date?

You do this yourself online or you provide the changes to LOCATUM and it makes the changes for you. Keeping the database up to date is your responsibility. However, LOCATUM will provide periodic reminders to you.
What if fields in my text database entries change?
You simply go online, make the changes, and respond to LOCATUM’s change confirmation notice. There is no charge for this.

How do I know my equipment will work with LOCATUM?
LOCATUM is designed to industry standards and LOCATUM technicians check your system’s performance as they install it for you.
How do I know my building floorplans will print on other printers?
Since LOCATUM uses pdf files, they will print on most all printers. As part of installation and test, LOCATUM will transmit plans to critical printers.

Can I use color-coding on my building floorplans and other database information?
Since color distinctions are not clear on black and white printers, color-coding on plans would limit sending your information to color printers. For your protection, LOCATUM requires all data to be black and white so it will print on any printer or fax machines. The use of color is prohibited.
